There are many questions that arise from people as to festivals.  We have tried to answer many of them below.  If you still have questions, please email us at info@okpagan.com.  More detailed information will be sent to you in your conformation packets once you register for the event.

Q:

The event says all inclusive.  Do I need to bring anything?
A: Yes, there are things you need to bring.  Those will include, but not limited to the following.  Remember, each person feels the need for more or less things.  It is a personal choice at that point.
  • Clothing for the event.  It can be ritual clothes or street clothes.  That is up to you.  However, this is NOT a clothing optional event so you will need to keep your private bits private while attending.  We are in a State Park and must follow their rules.
  • Bedding.  Bunk bed style sleeping is provided, but you will need to bring your own linens or sleeping bag, pillow, or anything else that you need to get you through the night.
  • Toiletries.  Bathrooms are available, but you will need to bring your own towels, wash cloths, soap, and any other items you may want such as, but not limited to, deodorant, dental hygiene, etc

Q: What is this Volunteer thing I hear about?
A: At most large Pagan events you are required to sign up, when you get to the event, for 2 hours of community work.  This ranges to work in the kitchen to camp cleanup.  It builds community and also allows us to keep registration costs down.  We don't hire people to clean up after us, so someone has to do it.  We take great pride that the Parks department knows when we leave that the Camp Site will be in better shape than when we arrived.  It builds a good reputation for Pagan Events in the State.

Q: What meals are provided?
A: Breakfast is served from 8:00am - 9:00am
Lunch is served from 12:00pm - 1:00pm
Dinner is served from 5:30pm - 7:00pm
  • On Thursday we provide you a Lunch and Dinner
  • On Friday we provide you Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
  • On Saturday we provide you Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
  • On Sunday we provide you Brunch

If you have dietary needs that preclude this schedule you will need to provide for yourself.  The kitchens are off limits to all but Staff so if anything needs refrigeration you will need to bring an Ice Chest and provide your own ice.

Q: Are there Handicap Facilities?
A: While the Park does have ramps and walkways, they are not listed as Handicap Cabins or such.  We have had many people with disabilities in the past attend our events and none of them had problems.  If you do have special needs you will need to address that on your registration so we can make as many arrangements as possible.

Q: What are the Sleeping Accommodations like?
A: The group camp that is provided has ten sets of group cabins.  There are 6 sets of bunk beds to each cabin.  These are single beds.  The cabins are clean and have heaters and air conditioners and a limited amount of electricity.  We say limited as if you really tried you could overload the system.;-)  You will need to provide whatever linens you want to sleep on as all that is provided is a bare mattress.

Q: Can I get other kinds of Sleeping Accommodations?
A: Yes.  You can Tent Camp if you wish.  This, however, is not allowed in the Group Camp area (Park Rules) so you must use the primitive camping area which is approximately 1 mile from the Group Camp and you would incur whatever the primitive camping costs are from the Park directly.

There are also private Cabins that you can rent separately from the park.  These are in limited number and are quite nice.  The have both a private restroom and Kitchen.

There are also some hotels just outside of Bartlesville if you would prefer that.  The Park gates close to in traffic at 10:00pm each night and open at 9:00am.  So, that is something you would have to take into consideration

There are no deduction of fees if you make alternate sleeping arrangements as we still have to account for the total number of people to the Park and are charged for each participant.

Q: Can I keep any food items I bring in the Camp Kitchen Refrigerators?
A: No, you cannot.  In past years we have had problems with people leaving food in the refrigerators once they left, and other problems so we have instituted a no tolerance policy.  Unless you are camp staff or working in the Kitchen during a Volunteer Stint, you are not allowed in the part of the Camp.  The only exception we have for this is the storage of medicines like Insulin.

Q: What are the Bathrooms like?
A: There are two sets of Bathrooms (Men's and Women's).  Each has toilets, sinks, and showers, as well as electricity for hair dryers and such.

Q: What if I can't come for the whole of the event?
A: We setup our events to be a process, so that you get the most out of them by being there for the whole thing.  However, if you cannot make it on Thursday or have to leave early then that is fine with us.  You can come and go as you wish (take into account the gate closing and opening times).  There are no reductions of registration fees if you are not there for the whole of the event.

We do have a Saturday Day Pass each year.  If that is something you would like to try, then we recommend that.  However, for those just not sure with this being a first time event we highly suggest you just go ahead and sign up and try the whole of the weekend.  It is something you will enjoy.

Q: Do I have to have special clothes?
A: No.  Many people do use ritual clothes for the rituals, but they are not required nor does everyone use them.  You may dress in anything that is within decency laws of the County, State, and Park.

Q: Can I smoke?
A: You are welcome to smoke outdoors, but do remember to pick up your butts and not leave them on the ground.  There is no smoking in any of the cabins nor in any of the camp buildings.

Q: Drugs?
A: Drugs are strictly prohibited.  Anyone found with such will be asked to leave the park immediately without refund of their registration.  We must follow all Park laws.

Q: Can I bring my Child?
A: No.  We do not allow anyone under the age of 18 at our events.

Q: What is the Silent Auction I hear about?
A: There is always a Silent Auction each year at OKP Beltane.  People are asked to bring items to donate for the auction and then they can bid on others.  All monies raised via the Silent Auction go toward OKP Events or other charities we may select for that year.

Q: Will there be a bonfire?
A: This depends each year on whether or not we have a burn ban.  We always hope to have one, but sometimes laws forbid it.

Q: I'm a heavy packer.  Is there a limit to what all I can bring?
A: No, there is no limit to what you can bring, however, storage space is limited so you may have to keep some of it in your car.  Usual amounts of clothes for a 4 day/3 night stay and toiletries are fine, but bringing lots of other miscellaneous things could mean that you have to keep some of these things in the car.  After all, you have to be kind to your roommates.
