APRIL 24-27 · 7th Annual

Thank you for your interest in OKP's 7th Annual Beltane Festival and Intensive.

Each year, we see the seasons come and go.  Often times in our busy lives we forget to marvel and embrace the awe that is nature.  We here at OKP have tried to take advantage of the beauty and magic that is Spring.  The world around us is beginning to take on life again.  All around you it is visible, from the budding flowers to the lengthening of the days.

This is our 7th year to have a large public Beltane Festival at OKP.  We are ecstatic.  Every year gets better and better and this year is no exception.  When our event first started we dreamed of the day we could bring talents to our part of the country that we had only heard on CD or read in books.  Imagine how thrilled we are to have secured both Raven Grimassi & Stephanie Taylor for this year's Beltane entertainment and as our Guest Author!  If you have never read thier works we strongly urge you to visit their site and read more about them.

Raven Grimassi & Stephanie Taylor will be our guest authors for Beltane 2008.  Raven has been a practitioner and teacher of Witchcraft for over 30 years. He is an initiate of several Witchcraft traditions including Brittic, Pictish-Gaelic, and Celtic Traditionalist. Raven is a legally ordained clergy of Witchcraft. Grimassi is currently the Directing Elder of the Arician Tradition, a system of Italian Witchcraft. He is also a recognized expert on Italian Witchcraft, and the foremost authority on the works of Charles Godfrey Leland in this particular field. Raven has appeared on television and radio interviews nation wide, in several short films on Witchcraft, and was a consultant for the pilot movie film called Mind Forest. Raven is a popular lecturer and guest speak at festivals and conventions nationwide.

Raven Grimassi is the author of over 10 books on Wicca and Witchcraft, including The Wiccan Mysteries, which was awarded Book of the Year and First Place - Spirituality Book by the Coalition of Visionary Retailers in 1998, and The Encyclopedia of Wicca & Witchcraft, awarded Best Non-Fiction, 2001.  His other titles include The Book of Ways, The Witches' Craft, Wiccan Magick, Hereditary Witchcraft, Beltane, Italian Witchcraft, The Witch's Familiar, Spirit of the Witch, Witchcraft: A Mystery Tradition, and The Well Worn Path Deck and companion book "A Traveler's Guide to the Well Worn Path".

Raven currently lives in southern California with his life partner and divides his time between writing, directing the Arician Tradition, and developing a Mystery School called The College of the Crossroads. He is devoted to preserving and teaching the Mystery Tradition of pre-Christian Europe.

Osage State Park is one of the most beautiful places in Oklahoma.  With cooperation from the Parks Department we are able to provide a wonderful facility that can offer a spiritual place to bring in the season of Beltane.  Amongst the lush flora and the avid fauna our Group Camp is nestled on the rise of breathtaking cliffs with a picturesque river running below.  Many trails and paths have been made so that all can take in the majesty of the area.  Whether it is hiking in the woods of sun bathing on the rocks near the waterfall you will find a lovely oasis wherever you look.

Onsite we have access to an industrial sized and equipped kitchen and stone and timber lodge house that is flanked by large rustic fireplaces at either end.  All of the cabins are both heated and cooled so that if nature's climate control is not to your liking you can enhance it.

The weekend will be chocked full of beauty and power, meaning and insight.  There will be an opening ritual on Friday night, Main ritual on Saturday evening, and a closing ritual on Sunday morning.  All rituals will be tied together and flow with the unity and love of the sacred spiritual and reverence for the earth and all those that reside on Her.

The rituals performed here draw from the myths and histories of ancient peoples, the stories of the changing of the seasons, of the fertility of the Earth, of the spirituality within all of us.  They awaken the divine within us by creating a manifestation of our inner beauty.

Merchants.  Wow!  One of the things that OKP's Beltane has always had are some amazing Merchants.  In fact, there is such a huge number of submissions each year that we now have to put them before a selection committee.  To inquire about Merchant approval please email the Merchant Coordinator or you can visit our Merchant Page.  But, it is safe to say that with the number of unique items offered that no one in attendance will be disappointed in their shopping opportunities.

While at the event there will be many unique workshops offered, however there will also be time for you to explore the beauty of one of Oklahoma's most stunning state park.  On site there is a river and waterfall for all to see.  The more adventurous may even cool their feet in the running water.

As we have always done with our food choices, there will be vegetarian and omnivore selections, each lavish and rich.  We believe in the true idea of feasting and thus embrace this concept with open arms and bellies.;-)

We have found from our own events and attending other spiritual retreats that the participants feel more connected when they truly become part of the action.  So, we will continue to in the great tradition of assigning two hours of volunteer time to each person.  When you show up at the event you will be given an area in which you can help.  In doing so we make the event our own and everything bonds further.  When you leave you take away a feeling of truly being a part of a greater whole.

Here in Oklahoma we have a wonderful opportunity to use these park locations and not be afraid to be who we are.  We hope that you will come and enjoy all of the wonder that Spring has to offer and celebrate the near future of Summer as Beltane moves into full force!

If you have any questions about the event, please contact the Event Coordinator
